After "suffering" catastrophic brain damage at Woodstock in 1969 I finally regained my senses a few years ago and pursued my true passion of working with wood. I can sometimes be found stumbling through the forests of Albemarle County in search of unique pieces of wood. I also purchase wood from environmentally responsible plantations all over the world. The vast variety of wood species continues to amaze me.
Though I sometimes turn wood on a lathe, mostly I carve and sculpt each piece to achieve that one of a kind look. I specialize in tables, bowls, platters, cutting boards and sculptures. I apply only food-safe finishes to my bowls and boards which can easily be maintained with any food-safe oil or wax. Mineral oil and beeswax mixtures are readily available and will keep your wood looking its best. I hope you share my appreciation for the organic beauty and rich diversity of wood.
